    Cadet 3 Flushing System
In the most recent independent MaP (Maximum Performance) tests, the Cadet 3 flushing system received the highest possible rating, handling 1,000 grams of solid waste in a single flush. This means you can count on your Cadet 3 toilet for dependable one-flush performance.

Cadet 3's smart gravity design delivers higher performance with fewer clogs. Engineered for a stronger, more reliable flush, the Cadet 3 flushing system means you don't have to flush twice.

    2-1/8-Inch Siphon Trapway
With a larger diameter than the industry standard, Cadet 3 toilets have a fully glazed siphon trapway. This trapway features no choke points and a two-inch ball pass to help prevent clogging, which means it can move a 60 percent larger mass than a standard two-inch trapway.

    EverClean Surface
Treated inside and out, Cadet 3 tanks and bowls feature a permanent EverClean surface. This system incorporates a patented silver-ion additive right into the material to protect it from mold, mildew, algae, and fungus that could cause deterioration or staining. You'll love how the mirror-like EverClean surface is easy to keep clean and stays cleaner longer, even after years of use.

    Five-Year Worry-Free Warranty
The Cadet 3 toilet is backed by a five-year warranty that covers everything inside and out.

    Customer Reviews

I installed two basic Cadet 3 Roundfront Toilets (6 Liters) in our household of 5 adults around September 2009, and both have been working well with no problems for 2 years now. Great flush, fast and not noisy, never need 2 flushes (to my memory), even though I adjusted early the water-level to just under 5 liters ! Its superior performance compared to our previous 13 L toilets, which didn't flush sometimes, can be explained as follows :1) The flush-valve (at the tank bottom) is 3 inches, much larger than the 2" in most toilets, thus giving a stronger water down-flush. Same as the top-rated Toto toilets which are more expensive.2) The trapsize is 2 1/8", which is said to be about the average today or slightly more. The minimum standard was 1 1/2". Champion has larger trapsizes and Caroma has 3" and 4". It is sufficient anyhow to our experience.3) The trapway is glazed, allowing a smoother pass (I have checked it with my hand, though it did not feel fully glazed inside, or as smooth as the outside).4) The wide water-surface area in the bowl (9" x 8") should be a contributing feature also.Another feature is that it fits into our bathroom floor rough-in which is less than 12" perfectly (measured from the flange-hole center to the back wall), since the Cadet 3 toilet rough-in is measured about 11 1/2" (from the bowl-outlet center to the tank's back). Our former toilet has an exact 12" rough-in, which caused a misalignment with our flange-hole, a ' titled ' tank, and water leak troubles in our bathroom to downstairs ! However, if your floor rough-in is 12" or more, you might see a small gap between the tank and the wall.Only one complication in our case. I found some waterdrops appearing nonstop at the tank's bottom after installation. Eventually, I bought a set of tank bolts/nuts/washers that has additional nuts and washers sealing the tank bottom's openings where the bolts come out, and there was no more water dripping. I sealed the second toilet similarly without testing first. I further put some Duct-tapes on the first tank's bottom and back just in case of condensation. Also, I used 'nylon' nuts (white plastic) instead of the common 'brass' nuts to prevent rusting, which has caused me much trouble in removing the toilet from the floor, and separating the bowl and tank ! Moreover, I put washers and nylons nuts onto the floor bolts to ' fix ' them to the flange, so I could ' center ' the toilet bowl-outlet with the flange-hole surely without shifting the bolts' positions, as the bowl touched them during installation. This off-center misalignment has caused water leak problems to our ceiling downstairs before !I bought each roundfront bowl (3011.016.020) and lined tank (4021.500.020) at a HomeDepot store in Toronto for about $200 CDN - a great deal considering many more expensive toilets simply do not flush as well ! And many use more water still ! The outer design of Cadet 3 looks very nice either. Can't find a better deal.

So far so good with this toilet. I never thought I would be buying a toilet online, but black toilets aren't something you find in every store these days. The toilet works great. I would never have thought a toilet could work with so little water. The tank is small to begin with, but then it only fills about a third of the way up. When flushed, it flushes perfectly and very quick. It almost seems like there is a vacuum on the other end. I would recommend this brand/style of toilet to anyone. I received it quickly. Had a small issue with the price of shipping that was resolved immediately.

We bought this unit locally last spring and installed it ourselves. It looks nice and works great. Stays clean almost indefinitely due to the stay clean technology. Had to make one minor adjustment to the tank float so it would not run. (only involves twisting the top of float.) Would buy it again.

I have not been a fan of Am Standard toilets in the past. I actually wanted a Toto because of reviews; settled for Cadet 3 because it comes in a 10 inch rough. But I am extremely pleased -- anybody considering a Toto Drake may want to consider the Am Standard Cadet 3 Flowise.Anyone with an older toilet should get one of these -- in a lot of places the water savings will pay for the upgrade, and the toilet will save you all kinds of aggravation.1) Flush is very powerful, rated among the best, all anyone should need. You may never need a plunger.2) Water usage is state of the art -- 1.2 gal is even better even than the dual flush .9/1.6 toilets and without the hassle and maintenance issues dual flush toilets can have.3) Stays clean! The model we got came with the extra slick glazing (Toto offers a version of this too) which makes it hard for anything to stick to the toilet bowl. This means very little cleaning, very little bacteria buildup because bacteria can't adhere to the coating. No need to put expensive bleach tablets in the toilet to keep it clean. Note: very important NOT to use abrasive cleaners, Ajax or soft scrub etc as they can scratch the special glazing. A little 409 or something similar is all you should ever need.4) Some people here complaining about flapper but it looks to me to be a very nice easy to maintain flush mechanism, and the flapper is silicone so it should last many years.5) This toilet is a nice standard install, nothing hard for the plumber. Tank hardware is pre-installed and just requires tightening.6) Because it's a 1.2 gal flush, the tank is narrower and thinner which gives you a little more feeling of space.Be sure and get the Flowise -- which is the 1.2 gal model.

The toilet (model 2829.128.021) arrived by UPS in two boxes: the bowl (model 3011.001) and the tank (model 4021.128). I inspected the boxes and even opened the shipping boxes to inspect the factory boxes before I signed for delivery. Everything appeared together. Unfortunately, days later when I removed the old toilet and was in the process of placing the new tank on the new bowl, I noticed a hinge on the plastic flapper had broken. The tank was packaged well enough for shipment to me, that I believe it had broken either at the factory or in transit from the factory. I called American Standard and the service rep told me the flapper, a Fluidmaster model 540, was a new part and they were out of stock and wouldn't be able to ship a new flapper to me in less than three weeks. Quite unacceptable, but a return to Amazon was not ideal at this point in the installation. So, I put in a request for a warranty replacement part. The local HomeDepot did not carry the Fluidmaster 540 or third-party equivalent either because it is a new model flapper. Luckily the piece which had broken off was still in the box, so I bought some Loctite marine epoxy for $6 and glued it back together. It's holding for now until the replacement arrives. Other than that, the toilet has a powerful flush and works great.I also have the "Right Height" version of this toilet (model 3377.128.021). You may read about the other flapper issues I've had with that toilet in my comments to the 3-star review by 'K. Stuckey "kateling"'. It has the same tank (model 4021), but uses a different flapper and valve assembly.

Two years ago I had to replace a toilet upstairs in one of my rental units. At the time, it seemed like a good idea to try out the American Standard Cadet 3, based on the info at one of the big box stores. I didn't do my usual thorough research for that one but it just didn't seem overly necessary since that toilet is a mere 3 feet from the main vertical sewer stack that emtpies directly down into the horizontal main 2 floors below. This vertical pipe is also fully vented to the roof just above that unit. Pretty much ideal circumstances for any toilet to perform perfectly. And given these ideal circumstances, the Cadet 3 is adequate and it does it's job. But I would not describe it as overly powerful or particularly fast - at least not compared to a Toto Toilet. We finished a bathroom remodel a month ago and installed a Toto Drake there. It costs only perhaps $30 more than the Cadet 3 via online sources.Ok! So now I ccould compare the performance of: - A Toto Drake with a HUGE horizontal run and vented merely by an air admittance valve to - A Cadet 3 with a TINY horizontal run and MASSIVE ventingThere is just no comparison. The flush of the Toto Drake is VASTLY more forceful and quick. And the Toto uses less water while doing it . Last night I examined part of the horizontal main where I added a cleanout valve near the Drake. And it's all nice and clean. All the "water slugs" actually made it all the way from the Drake down some 25' of piping that doesn't even include the final 15-20' ... all the way to the sewer main. Sweet!Spend just a bit more money and you will have a much better toilet. You can also have many choices in your choice of finish. We went with Colonial White (soft muted white) instead of a standard Cotton White (bright white). Same price ...
