KOHLER K-4732-0 Transitions Quiet-Close Toilet Seat, White Reviews

    1. We thought that this would be the perfect seat for our son -but it is horribly designed. The quick hinges are a good idea, but in practice they allow the seat to literally fall apart with even the slightest force (like that of seating). It arrived without the center hinges - so there was nothing keeping the adult and child seats together. This is horrible product - dont waste your time or money. Would give ZERO STARS if possible.

    2. I ordered this after reading the great reviews. We use a Baby Bjorn potty ring and I thought this would be great. We have a standard sized toilet. This seat doesn't fit it. It fits it more like it's oblong. The front of the seat hung over the front of our toilet a good 3 inches. It also doesn't have a splash guard like the Bjorn ring. The plastic is hard and it's very uncomfortable for adults to sit on. The lid doesn't close slowly. If you are looking for something like the Bjorn potty ring, keep looking.

    3. I have a 2 1/2 year old that is being potty trained. We have an elongated toilet in our main floor powder room where she uses the bathroom the most. Two problems with that: 1) our child seat was for standard toilets so it moved around and she never felt comfortable going to the potty by herself. 2) Having to remove and replace the child seat whenever we had guests. We recently installed the Kohler Transition toilet seat and she absolutely loves it. She feels so safe sitting on the child ring that she now wants to use the potty by herself and all the time...even when she doesn't have to go potty. The quiet close feature is an added bonus, because I don't have to worry about the toilet seat slamming down on her fingers when she sets the seat down. Another great thing about the seat is that we don't have to remove the child seat whenever guests come over...they just lift it up to expose the adult ring or lift it up completely. I plan on purchasing another seat for her bathroom upstairs.

    4. I bought this based on the awesome reviews and not sure if I have a lemon, but the "easy clean" detachable lid comes apart through any use whatsoever, meaning the toddler seat and seat lid detach completely. While in and of itself this is incredibly annoying as I have to take the seat apart to reattach the lid ~3 times each day, my bigger issue is that it completely endangers my toddler as once the hinge mechanism separates, he can remove the lid completely (despite a seat lock) and then can access the toilet with no lid at all. It's not a case of us just not using it correctly and trying to push the lid closed faster than it wants to, we have tip toed around this idiotic desiogn for weeks now and it truly does come apart through very gentle and normal use, with no pushing of the seat whatsoever.

    5. Ok, so I got this seat not really knowing how it was going to look/function. For an elongated seat it's really weird, but just narrow enough my 2 y.o. daughter doesn't fall in. The top lid does not have the quiet close feature and will slam down like any other plastic toilet seat. However, if it is closed along with either of the other 2 parts of the seat it really is a quiet close.Upon reading reviews on Amazon and the internet some people complain about the toddler seat hitting you in the back. It did not occur to me until I ordered it and received it that you must keep in mind that for a normal/ average sized adult this will not be an issue. For those who are overweight, bordering on obesity, yes, it will hit you in the back so consider a removable seat if that is going to be an issue for you. I plan on ordering another one for the downstairs bathroom and getting rid of her other potty seats because it is such a pain to remove and set somewhere and more importantly having to clean out potties after each use, yuck! It also gets rid of the potential for the dog to drink out of the toilet...lid closed = no water for the dog, portable potty seat on = dog can stick tongue down into bowl which = mess & yuck!

    6. This seat has the Quick Release feature which makes the seat too wobbly. It gives you the option to not use the Quick Release feature by using "Non Provided" O rings which still didn't work!

    7. We love these seats and have them installed on all 3 of our toilets. Now we don't have to worry about where to store the children's seats or worry about the kids dropping their seats in the toilet. :) The child seat does NOT "poke" an adult when it is up.Also, love the quiet close and the fact that you can take it off to clean under back where it attaches to the toilet.Plan on getting these seats for the new house too!-----------UPDATE---------Kohler had to replace one of the seats because one of the "latches" that keep them on the toilet broke. They all now have weak "latches" which allows them to move around on the toilet base. We will not be buying these for the new house and no longer recommend them. We'll be looking for a different brand that doesn't use cheap plastic.
