This faucet is very convenient for large sinks, easy to operate, reliable, and very-well designed. The faucet head can be conveniently pulled out of its socket on a flexible hose, like in a shower, if you need to spray water in a different place in the sink or at a different angle... or maybe even outside of the sink (some ideas that come to mind include spraying water on misbehaving children or, if they are spending the weekend at grandma's house, then playfully spraying your spouse after you've used up all the whipped cream.) It retracts by itself back into the socket when you let it go. A button on the faucet head also switches the water stream from normal to rain. It may be pricey, but it's a true luxury device. I've had it in one sink for several years and just got the same faucet for another sink.
We purchased the Grohe faucet as part of a kitchen renovation. While it was one of the few faucets we looked at that had a metal instead of plastic spray head, the water pressure coming out of the faucet/spray head is very limited. If the spray head is taken off, the water pressure is normal. For some reason, the flow is slow with the spray head attached. It takes FOREVER to fill up a pitcher of water.
Love this faucet! Great and true finish, works as depicted, solid and sturdy, and worth the extra price!
Just installed. Nice footprint on our counter island. Replaced a Moen unit that was similar but not the same quality.Grohe unit's spray button has to be held at all times for the spray to be active. Moen unit's spray button - actually two buttons under pliable cover had a 'spray on' and 'spray off' position. I liked that Moen feature but the Grohe unit feels very fluid to operate. Lack of constant 'spray on' feature may be a mute point in a few days.
I bought one of these when I did my kitchen renovation in 2008. Not long after it was installed, it began having problems. After paying $500+ for this faucet, I just wanted the problem to go away. Well, it just got worse and worse. The nozzle wouldn't pull out with ease, and that only got worse with time. Finally, 2 3/4 years later, the hose just broke off. I explained the problems in an email to Grohe. The first time, they sent me some part that was supposed to fix the problem. I couldn't tell where it went and didn't want to call a plumber. After the hose broke, my husband (thank goodness he's relatively handy) climbed under the sink and did replace all the parts. It seems to be working OK now. For $500+, shouldn't I have a faucet that works longer than a few months with no problem? Also, the finish isn't too impressive at this point either.Customer service with the company isn't good. When the hose broke, it took them about two weeks to get me another! I had to look at everything under the sink scattered on the floor in my kitchen and not have a sink to use for two weeks. I know when my expensive Gucci purse strap broke, I stopped by the store in NYC and they had overnighted me a new one to my home that was waiting when I got back. For these expensive items, that's the kind of service I expect. I would NOT buy another Grohe. To me, they are terribly overpriced for what you get. Just more cheap, expensive stuff. That's the new America we live in. Draw your own conclusions about where it's all coming from!Added 6 months later: After replacing the part six months ago, I'm right back where I started. I am sending the faucet back in to where I purchased and they are sending me a new one. It must be a faulty/defective unit because they have reported no other big problems with this faucet. I'll weigh back in after I receive the NEW one.
I put this in our new home bar sink and I love it. It has a fantastic finish and a nice and sturdy lever and the pull out faucet is very nice to have. The line pulls out smoothly and then recoils and fits back in nicely; I have friends whose pull-out faucet(different brands) wears out after a few times...not ths case with this one!We have very hard city water and Grohe works great with it.Great faucet and it is highly recommended!
I've had this faucet in oil rubbed bronze finish for about a year. The finish still looks brand new, the hose works perfectly and is the perfect length to rinse out the sink, and although on the expensive side, has been totally worth it. My opinion is that it needs to be professionally installed because although I have replaced faucets before, this one was really complicated. Other than that, I highly recommend it.
