We purchased these door handles and latches to replace the 'builder quality' items in our home. The new units were a perfect fit replacement including the doorframe cataches, latch mechanisms, and handle bezels. In fact, they worked better than the units they replaced- much more positive engagement, and handles were solid rather than hollow. It remains to be seen how well the plating will last, but initial impressions are very positive!
Good, solid passage lever. I have converted our whole house to this series of passage levers and locksets (including dead bolts). Highly recommended.
This handle feels solid. It has some heft and that feel of something substantial. I tried similar handles from Schlage and Brinks (sold by Wal*Mart) and - though they looked pretty good, they felt light and kind of cheesy.You can buy option "rosette" (oval) plates to replace the round plates that go around the base. I think they make the handles look more homey and less office like (especially if you're getting one of the nickel/chrome/stainless finishes). It'd be nice if they made that an option instead of something you have to purchase in addition to the handle.But I'm very happy with the handle. They were easy to install (as door handles go).NOTE: Door handles are rated by durability "ANSI Grade". These are ANSI Grade 2, which is very good. Grade 1 is for hospital doors, entries to police stations and other heavy use service (and they look it - and cost it). Grade 3 is pretty typical for residential door handles. They work fine, but seem less solid.
These handles are good quality and well worth the price. The lever handle is a big improvement over a regular door knob!Installation instructions were easy to follow. The handles take a little longer to install than less expensive brands, but the first handle was on the door within 15 minutes.Immediately apparent was the appearance and the mechanism. The old bedroom door was transformed to a contemporary look. (also put on matching satin nickel hinges). The lever mechanism is smooth.
Replaced 90% of the handlesets in the house with these. Very solid feel to them and easy to install.No problems - wife loves them and the house looks great now that the old 80's style Gold handlesets are gone!
