ShelterLogic 10X10X8 E Series Shed (Gray) Overviews

Includes: Grey fitted cover, Double zippered front door panel and solid rear panel (Unless otherwise noted), Ratchet tie-downs, Auger anchors, and Steel foot plates.
Win back garage space or create your own storage building with this ShelterLogic portable shed-in-a-box. The shed--which offers an ideal shelter for tools, lawnmowers, or even a tractor--is tough and weather-resistant, with a heavy-duty all-steel frame bonded with a DuPont thermoset baked-on powder-coated finish. As a result, the frame resists chipping, peeling, rust, and corrosion, helping it hold up to long-term use. The cover is just as tough thanks to the triple-layer, chemically heat-bonded ripstop polyethylene cover, which is UV-treated inside and out with fade blockers and anti-aging, anti-fungal agents. The cover helps the shed and its contents withstand heavy rains, howling winds, and all the other elements Mother Nature has in store. Finally, the shed includes a Rugged Ratchet Tite tensioning system that makes setup easy while keeping the cover tight to the frame. Other features include a solid rear panel, ratchet tie-downs, auger anchors, and steel foot plates. This E Series ShelterLogic shed measures 10 by 8 by 10 feet (W x H x D).

    1. I live in an apartment complex without covered or indoor parking. I wanted to keep my baby ('07 Goldwing) protected from the weather and dry when it rains. There is a private "patio" with privacy hedges along the front of the two story town houses that's just enough bigger than the shelter that I can get around it easily. It is very well built, the materials appear to be of good quality, durable and absolutely waterproof. It's fairly easy to assemble even alone. I started inside but quickly moved outside while it would fit through the door. It's well protected from the wind by the hedges, so it's free standing. I didn't think the landlord would appreciate holes in the concrete for the anchors. There have been some nasty thunderstorms with high winds and it hasn't moved. Not mfg's fault but there were a lot of sections of the tube frame missing. First call got a promise to get them to me in 10 days, second call actually got them ordered and delivered as promised. Absolutely no problems replacing the pieces the freight company lost. The box is heavy but I got it in the house without help. The inside has plenty of space for this very large motorcycle. Able to ride it in, just have to lower the antennae first. I added velcro to the roof and the flap door to hold it open when it's breezy. I thought some ties inside and outside at the top of the door could have been sewn into the seams and would have made it easy to keep the door open, but the velcro works well. The floor is the concrete and the sides are long enough that they curve outwards and keep the rain from coming in. It would be perfect for any motorcycle (possibly two crotch rockets), ATV or lawn tractor. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this highly. Wish I'd known about these years ago and plan to take it with me if I move.

    2. I had to make some modifications to the installation process as I built a wood floor to which I attached the shed. Overall, I think it's a good product and is sturdy once it's completely finished, the cover is attached and properly adjusted, and tie-down systems are secured. The zipper door works well and I'm happy with the space the shed provides. I would criticize the installation instructions for being a little confusing, so putting the shed together took longer than I expected. You also have to put the framework together and then disassemble it later in order to finish attaching the cover. Don't build it on a windy day. I thought that the way the end-walls were cut and rigged seemed a little out of whack which makes attaching them hard to understand and maybe the rigging will put additional stress on the fabric and tear it out. It is necessary to do some adjusting on the cover to get it to fit right. Also, There are quite a few hardware parts to assemble. I would like few parts and more simplicity. I mounted the structure ON TOP of a wood floor. If I was doing it over, I'd make the wood floor slightly smaller and have it be completely INSIDE of the shed with the shed being mounted on the ground. This would make water penetration at the floor level much easier to prevent. The bottom line is that once you get it built, it's pretty good. Additionally, the manual states that it is NOT intended for permanent installation. It cautions you that if you want for permanent install, you must use 30" anchors NOT INCLUDED. Only 4 small 15" anchors are included with the shed kit; that's not enough for good wind resistance.

    3. I bought this shed for a place to store my motorcycle. I could have squeezed the bike into a smaller (and cheaper) version but this size allows me to ride it in and out. There's also ample room to work on the bike inside or store other items alongside. It's reasonably sheltered from any high winds so I didn't anchor it. The winter has been mild so the interior has stayed completely dry. But, judging from it's construction, I don't think even a really hard rain could penetrate it. It was easy for one person to assemble. Two pieces of tubing were missing. It took a little longer than it should have to get them replaced but customer support was pretty good overall. This size is too tall to be able to fold the flap back over the roof so I added velcro strips to the roof and flap to keep it open when riding in and out. I'm very pleased with the quality and construction of this shed and don't anticipate any problems.

    4. This is my second tarp shed. The first one was made by a different company. This ShelerLogic shed was shipped complete with no missing pieces. The packaging was good. It went together well. First you assemble the frame, then you through the tarp over and tighten down. There is only one door. In the picture it looks like the back might open up, but it doesn't. There may be a kit available to add a door to the back, but I only need one door - so I didn't look into it. This shed has a nice feature my first one doesn't. There are two grommeted holes just above the door and two bungee cords. This allows you to roll up the door and then lock it open. I wished my other shed had this feature. The kit also includes looking hardware which pulls the tarp taut over the shell. This worked out really nice. It also comes with anchors that help you tie the shed down to the ground so it won't blow away in a windstorm. They seem to work as it hasn't blow over yet. I use it primarily to store a motorcycle -- and it works great. A few things you should be aware of. On a sunny day, these sheds get very hot inside - even if it's not that hot outside. So, be aware of this if are storing anything that is particularly sensitive to high temperatures. Second, when it blows in the winter, snow will enter the tent through the bottom of the door and also under the back panel opposite the door. The sides, by contrast have a lot of flap hanging over and so I've never gotten snow in through the sides. Third, there is really no way to lock this shed -- and even if you could, anyone with a knife could cut there way in. Thus, not so good for securing anything of value. Lastly, there is no floor. If you put the shed on your grass, the grass within one season will die and you will end up with a dirt floor which becomes a mud floor when it rains. I built a floor using pressure treated lumber. The floor set me back about $100 and 3 hours but is well worth it. Overall, this is a great shed. It's much cheaper then an aluminum kit shed; it's easy to assemble; it does the job; and it lasts a long time. I would not hesitate to buy another one -- or recommend one to my friend.

    5. Be advised that if you leave this up year round, it will start to tear within 24 months. Pinholes started appearing after one year and an 8 inch tear has appeared, plus several smaller tears. The gray material is thin as paper and not the least bit durable. Keep in mind this is nothing more than a temporary solution for a storage need. Considering the amount of work required to assemble the frame, I would think twice before wanting another one.Better cover materials are available but the cost makes you stop and think about putting up a regular shed instead.

    6. The ShelterLogic 'shed in a box' is a very good product and well worth the price. Some mechanical ability will be required for assembly and a few hours of time but when completed, it's very roomy inside and quite watertight.

    7. Very well built, very simple to assemble with one person. manufacture's Parts labeling was not good, so i.d. and sort the parts before you start assembly. Has held up to heavy rain storm (4.74" per hour). Would buy again.
