After researching exhaust fans- I was looking for one for a bathroom that would be quiet, energy efficient & not cost an arm and a leg - I was pleased to find this Panasonic model on sale through Amazon. Ordering was easy and the fan was received quickly. The fan and advertised accessories were delivered as promised.The fan works well and does a very nice job of turning the air in my bathroom, but it is not as quiet as I had hoped.
Arrived within a week and worked flawlessly when install. It's barely noticeable when running and it works great.
I recently installed this bath fan in our small 240cuft bathroom. It has no problem getting the steamy air out of the room. It is very quiet and high in quality. I researched may other comparable models but decided on this one. I am very pleased with the purchase it and would absolutely recommend it to anyone. I feel it is priced very reasonably as well.
Bought this almost a year ago. Still so quiet, and so fast. We're moving and I actually considered taking it with me (I think I'll just buy another one!).
I had a very difficult location to install this fan, replacing my old noisey 30? Year old fan. I had to find a low profile ( fit into 2X4 's), because under a/c and ducts. None available locally. This fan works very well and noise level even though 1.4 sones is not that bad, even though more than ultra low fan sone levels. A great improvement and not objectionable noise level. Finally, I can't say enough about Shipping from Amazon...I ordered Friday eve and it arrived Monday afternoon (this was great). Perfect for tight spaces.
This fan was the only one low enough for a tight space in the ceiling of my master bath toilet room, and strangely enough, the oval exhaust opening worked out well for my situation as well. There turned out to be pipes beside the fan on the exhaust port side that I was able to flatten a flexible duct down enough to slide under, and then hook to the exhaust housing of the fan with metallic tape. The low profile of the fan allowed it to go underneath a drainpipe from a sink upstairs that turned out to be directly above the fan as well. Even with all the tight tolerances vertically and the flattened hose, the fan is incredibly silent when in operation, and is reasonably attractive as well.
The title says it all - this fan (as well as another Panasonic fan in the same order) came with a 3" by 5" oval vent. WTF? It does NOT have a standard 3" round vent as both Panasonic and amazon claim. The instructions have some pictures of a unit with a round vent, and other pictures with the oval vent. I've installed quite a few bathroom fans, and NEVER seen one with an oval vent before. They must have a round version of this thing somewhere, but there's no indication on the outside of the box that this is a totally non-standard vent.The instructions claim that the oval vent can be fitted to a 4" round pipe by squishing one end of the pipe into an oval shape. Maybe so, but the 4" pipe will never fit into a standard 2x4 stud wall (which Panasonic claims the fan is designed for), will never pass a building inspection, and won't fit the 3" vent pipe I that I bought the fan to fit. It's the most mickey-mouse thing I've even seen.I'll never know how quiet this fan is, because I've contacted the vendor (the Price Pros) for a refund.
Panasonic's literature and Amazon's web pages say this fan has 3" round vent, however the one I received does not - It has a 3x5 oval vent. WTF? I do a lot of remodeling and have installed quite a few bathroom fans over the years and never heard of one with an oval vent. I makes these fans totally useless. Even worse, the box was not marked in any way to indicate that it was a non-standard product. If Panasonic is going to manufacture something idiotic like this they should at least label the box so consumers know what they are getting.I got this from "The Price Pros", who apparently no longer sell it. They refused to give me a refund or exchange, claiming I waited over 30 days. That's not true; they just jerked me around and stalled until it was over 30 days, THEN refused the refund. I'm furious with Price Pros, Panasonic, and Amazon, which should not allow crooks like this to sell on Amazon's site. Over $150 down the drain. This is the last time I'll ever buy a construction items online. From now on it's local hardware stores.
