I purchased this in brushed nickel and it is all metal without any plastic parts other than a rubber gasket and is good quality. The install was simple and has a good seal. It is a push down/pop up drain and I really like it a lot. It really looks nice in the large vessel sink I purchased separately.
I love the look of this product, it seems to be well built. But when I installed it ( I have moderate experience) I had to redo it 4 times because there was always a very slow leak. I used the rubber gasket that came with it and ended up using plumber's putty and a LOT of teflon tape and it finally stopped leaking. I paid $20 for it, not bad for the quality and look. I spent more time installing this then the faucet I bought with it. I would recommend this product, just be prepared to spend some time installing it.
When these arrived I thought they were going to be too big but they fit perfectly. The pop up part lays over the drain instead of going down into the drain like our old ones did and that is what made them look bigger. I purchased four of them and they installed easily and work great and look great. I would recommend these to a friend.
While the drain has a beautiful finish and heft. The fun stops there. The drain is very hard to seal (Even for someone with some experience). I had to use a WHOLE lot of pipe tape to get the drain to stop leaking which is a flaw in its machining. Also the rubber seal in the drain does not sit right against the sink
This is a wow-how-beautiful drain. Of course that sounds ridiculous - how can a drain be beautiful? Well, buy this and you will see. I opened the box and thought I'd made a mistake. I couldn't figure out how this worked. But playing around for a minute, I found that it is just a beautiful design. Push down, and the drain is closed. Push down again, and it pops open. I didn't install it - we used a plumber, because I had quite a few faucets going in, but even his grumpy self had to admit that this was a fine product. I highly recommend and am entirely pleased with everything I bought from this company.
Although recommended by the sink manufacturer I purchased from, this drain overfow hole does not line up with the sink. It sits BELOW the bottom of the sink and all the water just pours out into the cabinet. It is strong and well built, but I cannot imagine why they would think it works with my vessel sink
