   Kids kept losing their keys. After some research I found the Anaconda Lock on Amazon. They're great when you first install them. Eventually frequently used buttons remain in a pressed state i.e. if your '1' key stays in and your code is 1234, you only need to press 234 to open. Seems a common trait for all these inexpensive mechanical locks. Unfortunately they all share another trait: lousy latch cylinders. after some use, the latch stays inside the cylinder. I disassembled it, tried wd-40. nothing to be done, cheap materials eventually wear out. With the cylinder stuck, the door doesn't latch. a bad characteristic for an entry door. What's worse, cylinder/backset seems to be tough to find by itself. I ordered a schlage keypad lock to replace this one. The dual-keypad was good in theory, but is only practical on a gate. I never set the interior lock in my home. While there are times one might wish to lock the kids in, fire and child welfare considerations make it unrealistic for a residence.
