At last, a portable camp sink that really works! Our sinks are great for collection and carrying of water for purification, cooking, washing dishes or personal bathing. They're ideal for backpacking or group camping and they make a great gift for the outdoors person who has everything. Now available in a compact 5 Liter size, which holds 1.3 gallons and makes an excellent dog bowl; a 10 Liter (2.6 gallons), and for large groups a 20 Liter size (5.2 gallons).

Nice and solid base came quite in handy when washing dishes and dousing the fire, 10 litres good capacity and packs up tiny!
If you do any camping at all, you soon discover the need for something that holds water. Sometimes it's for washing dishes, other times it's for moving water up to camp so you can filter it, sometimes it's just for washing the dust off your face. It's always for keeping "dirty" water away from otherwise clean water sources, unless you're into making someone else sick or messing up the environment.Packing a bowl, even a plastic one, is a messy nuisance. Why not pack a collapsible bowl! Well, in the past, collapsible bowls tended to collapse when you didn't want them to. They also didn't collapse that well. The Kitchen Sink is a different matter. It stubbornly refuses to flop over when full, and yet it packs down into small when empty. It's built bulletproof. I have the 5 liter version, which is perfect for "personal" use either when you're car camping or backpacking.Remember to use this item responsibly, please! Don't do your dishes in a water source, and toss dirty water far from water sources so the earth can filter it and decompose it. Thanks!
I bought this for my three-week hike along the John Muir Trail this past summer. It was a godsend, and for some people, a conversation piece. I used this to wash up with, wash clothes and wash dishes. I never had to worry about a completely level surface as this sink takes on its own shape. So many people were impressed with this thing that they vowed to get one, too.Working this was easy, too: just open this thing up and scoop it into the creek for five gallons of water at your convenience. The sink then takes on the shape of a long and narrow bag that's easily carried to its destination. Using this keeps the creek water clean and it also allows you to use water where there isn't any water. It's made of a tough material that won't tear easily. This packs small and weighs very little. I'll never go on another camp-out without it.
It is suggested in the packaging that you use the sink 100 meters away from the fresh water source (assuming it's not a campground spigot.) I received the 20 liter version today and tested it out-- filled it up in the bathtub and pulled it up. For a woman it's a bit of a heavy and awkward load to carry if full. I wouldn't want to walk 100 meters with it. The size is good, though not deep, for washing a camping pot, hand-washables, or even a sponge bath. I'd want a sink to rinse with anyway so this gives me an excuse to buy the 10 liter size. It would make it easier to fill the 20 liter size by doing a couple of runs. The Sea to Summit sink is so perfectly packable and light it's a natural for backpacking or to use in an earthquake kit.PS love the green color
I got this as I transitioned from solo backpacking to family camping trips as children have come into the picture, with the expectation that I would be changing my dishwashing habits due to an increase in volume of dirty dishes. That didn't turn out to be the case. Though the concept really seems cool, and this product is very well made, after using it I have been left to wonder whether this isn't a solution in search of a problem rather than the other way around. Here are my thoughts based on my experience:* It did not change my washing habits - Like many backpackers, I carry with me into the wilderness an ethic of conservation, both in the sense that I want to leave wilderness much as I found it for future travelers, but also in the sense that when you hike into the back country for days or weeks, you have only those resources that you carry in with you. As such, I didn't find this item as useful as I thought I would. I still just use the pots I used for cooking to also clean up with. I couldn't bring myself to fill this thing up with a ton of water just so I could wash the dishes like I do at home. It's also just one more thing to haul, whether on your back or in your car camping kit.* It really does work best when full. Being soft-sided, the water inside acts to support the structure, so it'll hold up better when it's more than half-full rather than less. Consider this as there are different sizes: You'll want to get a size that both will fit the stuff you want to wash, but also will hold only as much water as you are willing to put in it. (e.g. It will not work well if you get the largest size and only put a gallon of water in it)* It is well made and sturdy, and it does not leak. It also coils up into a surprisingly small stuff bag that comes with it.* I found that this actually makes an excellent addition to our beach outings, allowing water to easily be hauled up the beach for building sand castles and moats. It stores tiny and is light, which is great when you have to walk a little way to the beach. It also makes for a reasonably efficient cooler for your drinks. Don't want to lug the giant cooler? Just fill this portable sink up with chilly ocean water and pop the drinks right in. Re-fill as necessary...* This has also done duty at larger family picnics at regional parks, where the water source is usually from the municipal water district. Good for hauling water and for cleaning up picnic supplies on the spot, and for cleaning up grubby kids before going home. So, I struggle a bit on this one: three stars or four? I give it four based on the quality of the product, and the fact that it coils up so small, but I think it may be mis-cast as a backpacking or even a camping item - at least for this user. I've used it more for suburban picnics and beach trips, where it's packability and water carrying ability shine, but I suppose that's OK.
